In 2018, Apple raised its prices on almost all devices

The initial prices for some popular Apple products have grown by about 20% on average. The company assures that prices are justified because the devices cost better than ever, but users are still dissatisfied.

In 2018, almost all Apple products have risen significantly. The prices for more niche devices or very expensive products such as Apple TV and iMac Pro, which cost from $ 150 to $ 5,000, remained unchanged.

In 2016, the iPhone 7 cost $ 649. In 2017, iPhone 8 went up by 7% to $ 699. This year, the cheapest iPhone is sold for $ 749. It is 15% more than in 2016.

Plans have also risen in price. If in 2017, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro started at $ 649, this year, the 11-inch iPad Pro costs $ 799, which is 23% more than a year earlier. The big iPad Pro has gone up by 25% – from $ 799 to $ 999. Even the second-generation Apple Pencil has risen in price by 30%.

With computers, the situation is even more interesting. The Mac mini in 2017 cost $ 499, and in 2018, its price starts at $ 799 – an increase of 60%. The new MacBook Air costs 20% more than the 2017 model.

Apple Watch Series 4 without LTE went up by 21% compared to a similar Series 3 configuration – $ 399 versus $ 329. LTE version costs 25% more expensive – from 499 dollars.

The increase in prices can be explained by the fact that the development and production of devices cost more than before. Also, the sales of Apple devices are gradually falling, so the company decided to increase prices to offset the decrease in demand.
