At the MWC 2019, now in Barcelona, OnePlus first showed its smartphone with the support of mobile networks of the fifth generation. A full-fledged announcement did not happen, but some could already be seen.
The prototype of the OnePlus 5G smartphone is hidden in the showcase and a large masking plastic case. In fact, there was only a screen without cutouts and a 21: 9 aspect ratio, like the flagship smartphone Sony Xperia 1, presented today. This is a new design for the company, which is very different from the current generation of OnePlus smartphones.
Experts believe that the next flagship of the company, OnePlus 7, may well get just such a screen. The OnePlus 6 and 6T smartphones have a thin screen frame, with only a small “chin” and a cutout. The company may decide to use the design of the OnePlus 7 without cutouts, and then it is unclear where the front camera will be hidden. It may be that the slider form factor, as in Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, or the Slow-Down Camera module, as in Oppo Find X, will be used.
The prototype is connected to the 5G base station. According to the company, the smartphone will be able to develop speeds up to 500 Mbps, although the demonstration of content was only about 15 Mbps. To do this, video streaming was transmitted at HD resolution at 60 frames per second – the game was demonstrated by Ace Combat 7 using the cloud game service Shadow. Visitors can play with the Xbox One controller connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth.
Earlier, OnePlus has already confirmed that the smartphone is based on the Snapdragon 855 processor and will cost $ 200 or $ 300 more than analogue for networks 4G
