IDC has provided results of its research on the Chinese smartphone market, stating that over the last quarter supply of smartphones Apple iPhone fell by 20%. Overall, the smartphone market in China declined by 9.7% quarter-on-quarter. Apple took fourth place after Huawei, Oppo and Vivo.
The demand for iPhone in the region is explained by several factors: the deterioration of the economic situation, a longer period of use of new devices, as well as high prices. At the beginning of the year, Apple sharply lowered its iPhone prices in China in order to strengthen its position, and it was fruitful.
According to IDC, Xiaomi, which feels great on the global market, has weakened its position at home even more than Apple. In the fourth quarter, the volume of Xiaomi smartphone shipments dropped by 35%.
China’s smartphone market leader in the fourth quarter, as already mentioned, was Huawei, which was able to increase shipments by 23.3%.
