Tomorrow is expected announcement of flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 9, including its transparent edition with 12 GB of RAM. As with last year’s Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition, the “transparent” rear panel does not really show anything inside.
Executive Director of Xiaomi Lei Jun gave a fairly detailed explanation on this subject and complemented it with high-quality renders.
In the flagship of the current year, the company decided to change the approach. Instead of using a true, but not working, board, put up for review in the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition, in a transparent edition, the Xiaomi Mi 9 manufacturer took an aluminum plate of 0.3 mm thick and simply engraved inside it with a special machine tool CNC, and then placed under a protective glass with a thickness of 0.4 mm.
As a result, the board is more like the inside of the notebook and has a lot of marketing labels with brands, including MIUI, Super Mi, Mi Fans, 48MP AI Camera Ultra Wide and Battle Angel.
However, in addition to the aesthetic in this design, there is also a practical sense. According to the head of the company, it helps cool the true components of the smartphone and take away heat from them.
Note that in addition to the transparent edition of the standard Xiaomi Mi 9 with triple camera, Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition is also expected with four modules in the main camera. However, it is possible that the names were confused and the smartphone with a quad camera will be called something else, and Explorer Edition will remain in the transparent edition of the usual Xiaomi Mi 9.
