While other smartphone makers usually try to keep everything most interesting to a solemn presentation, Xiaomi’s leadership continues to joyfully share commercial secrets through social networks.
At this time, the chief engineer and product director of Xiaomi, Wang Teng Thomas, in the Chinese social network, told Weibo not about the hotly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 9, but about a new smartphone.
In his dialogue with users, he said that the company can release a smartphone with a sliding frontal camera. This is not a smartphone slider like Mi Mix 3, but a slider module only for the front camera, like the Vivo NEX and OPPO Find X.
However, according to the top manager of Xiaomi, all depends on the potential demand for such a smartphone. The patent for such development in the company was received in 2015. Thus, the company may, but not necessarily release the smartphone in a new form factor. However, the network has already been notified that such a design can get Xiaomi Mi Mix 4, the successor of the first smartphone slider Xiaomi.
